August 2011
At our last Support Group on Friday 19th August 2011 we were joined by two new ladies; Sally and Shelley, and a member‟s mum—Sarah, a very warm welcome to our Group.
We discussed the Mini Fete and Table Top Sale we are holding on Sunday 4th September, at St. Peter‟s School, Merrow. Just a reminder that we have booked the hall from midday to allow enough time for us to set up. We have a variety of things going on now, lots for children to do in the way of games and craft, tables booked by people selling many different things. Denise has been very busy getting everything ready for the awareness table plus her own table. Thank you to those of you that are either having tables yourselves, have helped us in various ways leading upto the event and have volunteered to help on the day - theses fund-raising and awareness raising events would be impossible to do without you. Our thoughts and hugs to those of you who are not well enough at the moment or travelling on top of the event is too much, or are otherwise engaged - thank you for your well wishes.
One of our member‟s asked if we had a contacts list. So if we are unwell and can not make it to Support Group one month or just needs to chat, we could contact each other. Due to data protection we have to ask your permission for your details to be included on this list. I know Denise has emailed you regarding this, so this is just a gentle reminder to reply if you haven‟t already done so.
The Perrin technique, lymphatic drainage and acupuncture were discussed within the group and the various benefits people had experienced from them.
Also, the use of coloured filters for the removal of „visual stress‟. Further information in newsletter.
Denise explained the „spoon theory‟ and overleaf you find a copy of it. It is a very good way to explain to others how you need to prioritise you energy.

For this particular lecture they would like to invite other members from groups if they would like to attend. Admission would be free and we would just ask for a donation. This is a lecture not to be missed!
Please contact Denise for further details on venue.
COLOURED FILTERS FOR READING DIFFICULTY
The use of coloured overlay filters for the removal of „visual stress‟ in both children and adults is a recognised technique to improve visual performance. Although primarily aimed at dyslexics, it is now thought to be of benefit in many conditions including MS and ME in adults. There is no specific colour which help any specific individual so a range of tints is presented and the reading rate response is used to assess how beneficial a tint is to that person. The tint is then supplied as an overlay to be placed on top of the written piece and should mean that the ability to concentrate longer and more comfortably is achieved.
Unfortunately, the use of coloured overlays is not a service covered by the NHS.
